Gun Fire

Throughout the ages violence has been a part of human nature, but before fire arms and other weapons that can kill in an instant, men had to work harder for deaths. Now in 2012 we have an issue, the gun, from AK-47s to a simple hand gun, these have added terror in our hearts. There was an article published in Wall Street Journal on October 23, 2012 stating that teachers should have a weapon for defense purposes only.
Defensive-Used or intended to defend or protect: "troops in defensive positions". This prospect looks even more promising now after the tragedy of Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown Connecticut. After a man fired on civilians, he left 27 death, 20 was children. People flash to the “What if?”s of the situation. Now with America in a war against herself, about weather of not we should have fire arms at all, or arm teachers, we find ourselves in a state of fear.
Should we issue guns to teachers? Is this a correct action? Several months ago, a college professor went insane, in front of his students. He stripped himself of all his clothes, but his socks, and ran around the hall, his office, and his class room. The thought is humorous, but I don’t want to think what would happen if he had a gun. Also in a situation like Sandy Hook, it would have been a Godsend for someone in that school to have been armed.
Where parents should feel safe about sending their kids to school and kids should not worry about who comes through the door next, schools have become a No Man’s Land. The safety is a big question, and the safety precautions become ridiculous. The question is what should we do?
